New Delhi, Oct 16 – Indian photo experts shared their best iPhone 17 series tricks for capturing bright diyas and candles this Diwali without blowing out the highlights.
Bobby Roy, a professional photographer, said the iPhone 17’s Night Mode is a game‑changer for low‑light shots. “Use the 48‑MP HEIF MAX to bring out the fine textures of lights and festive décor,” he explained. “The Portrait mode on the Pro and Pro Max gives soft, cinematic moments and perfect pooja portraits.”
Roy also recommends the cinematic mode for great Diwali clips. Because all lenses on the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max run the photonic engine, they handle low light effortlessly, keeping detail and warmth. He adds: “Turn the flash off, lower the exposure, and play with reflections. A touch of warmth and vibrancy gives your photos that golden Diwali glow.”
Porus Vimadalal, another photographer, advises zooming to 2× or 4× for portraits. “This compresses the background and makes faces look realistic without distortion,” he says. “Tap to focus, then reduce exposure a notch to add subtle highlights for a cinematic look. You can tweak it later in editing.”
To get depth, place subjects roughly 45 degrees from the light source for beautiful directional lighting. For night shots, stay steady—use Night Mode and rest the phone on a stable surface or a mini‑tripod to avoid grainy images.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max feature Apple’s most advanced camera system yet. Three 48‑MP fusion cameras capture sharper detail, while a new 48‑MP telephoto camera with a 56‑% larger sensor sharpens bright shots and adds detail in the dark. The 4× optical zoom (100 mm) is ideal for portraits, and the 8× optical zoom (200 mm) gives the longest reach ever on an iPhone.
Front‑camera upgrades come with a brand‑new Center Stage feature, enhancing both photos and videos. The Pro models also support Dolby Vision HDR recording, 4K120 fps, ProRes Log, and ACES, keeping the iPhone at the forefront of smartphone video performance.
