Rajasthan Deputy CM unveils her father’s wax statue on his birth anniversary

Jaipur, Oct 23 – The Jaipur Wax Museum opened a new exhibit on Tuesday to honor the legendary Maharaja Brigadier Sawai Bhawani Singh, a Mahavir Chakra‑winners and Indian Army hero, on the day of his birth anniversary.
Rajasthan Deputy Chief‑Minister Diya Kumari walked the museum’s “Royal Darbar” and spoke about her father’s bravery and humility. “Seeing his likeness here fills my heart with pride,” she said. “His story inspires everyone to value courage, service and compassion.” Her words echoed the emotion of visitors who came to remember a national hero.
The unveiling began with an 8‑minute documentary that highlighted Brij, the Maharaja’s heroic role in the 1971 Indo‑Pak war that earned him the Mahavir Chakra, India’s second‑highest gallantry award. The film moved many in attendance as it traced his journey from royal comfort to disciplined military life.
The wax figure itself took months of research and modelling. Artists carefully captured his face and posture, drawing on photographs and eyewitness accounts. The final product reflects the stature of a king who traded royal luxury for a life in the Army after Independence. Chairman of Amer Fort, Rakesh Cholak, praised the museum for preserving Rajasthan’s warrior heritage.
Founder‑Director of the museum, Anoop Srivastava, said, “It is an honor to immortalise such a great son of India.” He added that the museum’s focus is on real battles and brave leaders, not just movie stars. The Jaipur Wax Museum already features life‑size figures of Maharana Pratap, Sawai Jai Singh II, Maharani Gayatri Devi, and others.
Brigadier Sawai Bhawani Singh’s figure joins the “Royal Darbar” section, enhancing the museum’s tribute to Rajasthan’s royal legacy. Its display offers visitors a tangible link to the past, encouraging them to appreciate the courage that shaped India.
The ceremony closed with heartfelt tributes. Former army officers, museum staff and city dignitaries gathered to honour a man whose life continues to inspire Rajasthan and the entire nation. The museum’s mission remains clear: to bring history and valor closer to the people, not just entertain.
