Manhunt launched after road rage leads to student assault in Maryland

Towson University students were shaken Thursday morning after a campus killer‑hunt kicked off at 8:55 a.m. A student in Parking Lot 11 called police saying a stranger had followed him from a road‑rage fight off campus, stepped out of a dark sedan, punched the student, and ripped the car’s tires. The suspect fled in the same vehicle.

The victim was injured but chose not to get medical treatment. Towson Police are still looking for the student who attacked the campus rider. Officers say the attack was linked to the earlier road‑rage incident, not a random act.

“We want the campus community to stay alert while our officers work to locate the suspect,” the university’s Office of Public Safety told Fox News Digital. “Your safety is our top priority.”

This incident follows a steady rise in campus crime at Towson. In 2025, the university logged 672 reported incidents. Assaults jumped from 46 last year to 59 this year, and 34 have already been reported this year alone. Police and university officials are urging students to remain vigilant until the suspect is found.
