‘The View’ dresses 2 kids as Coldplay kiss cam couple in wild Halloween move

The daytime show The View sparked laughs and a little controversy on Halloween night, when it dressed two kids as the couple who became famous for the Coldplay kiss‑cam incident.

During the show’s “Boo Are You Wearing?” segment, co‑host Sara Haines and wardrobe supervisor Ashley Alderfer Kaufman unveiled a lineup of children in costumes that reflected the biggest pop‑culture moments of the year. The kids were a mix of pop stars, theater characters, and a few cheeky nods to recent news.

The most eye‑catching bit was the parody of the Coldplay kiss‑cam scandal that broke last summer at the band’s Gillette Stadium show. One child mimicked the startled expression that the viral clip captured, while the other shuffled away to avoid the camera—just like the two Astronomer executives who were once seen doing the same on the jumbotron. The scene was so spot-on that it drew a round of applause from viewers and a chuckle from Haines, who praised the kids’ timing before moving on to the next act.

Other costumes made the segment memorable too. A youngster wore a crate emblazoned with the new Cracker Barrel logo, poking fun at the chain’s rebranding mishap. A pair of kids dressed as Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked and its anticipated sequel showcased the show’s flair for theatrical references. The segment also featured mini versions of NFL star Travis Kelce and pop icon Taylor Swift in a playful tribute to their August engagement, and a tiny Pope Leo XIV dressed in attire echoing his Chicago roots.

The View isn’t new to mixing pop culture with light‑hearted parody. In 2022, its wardrobe team designed a costume depicting the infamous Will Smith–Chris Rock Academy Awards incident, calling it “The Oscars Slap.” The crew made sure to keep the reference playful and non‑violent, noting that they aim to comment on hot topics without endorsing real violence.

Overall, the Halloween episode of The View kept its audience entertained with a mix of humor, pop‑culture nods, and a few commentary‑laden costumes, proving that even a daytime talk show can capture the buzz of 2025’s biggest moments.
