After Rs 5 crore aid by Tripura govt, BJP sends relief to flood-hit Himachal Pradesh

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha showed strong support for flood-hit Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday by flagging off five vehicles packed with relief materials worth nearly Rs 50 lakh. This comes after the Tripura government already donated Rs 5 crore to the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help those battling the devastating floods.

The vehicles, loaded with essentials like blankets and medicines, set off from New Delhi. From Agartala, CM Saha, along with Tripura BJP Vice-President Subal Bhowmik, state General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, and other leaders, virtually flagged them off. State BJP President and Rajya Sabha member Rajib Bhattacharjee is personally overseeing the dispatch in the national capital.

In a post on his official X account, CM Saha shared, “In this difficult time, Tripura Pradesh BJP stands firmly in solidarity with the flood-affected people of Himachal Pradesh. Today, I flagged off relief materials on behalf of Pradesh BJP to extend assistance to those affected by the devastating floods.”

Speaking at the event outside the State BJP headquarters in Agartala, Saha drew from Tripura’s own painful experience with catastrophic floods last year. “We deeply understand the pain and suffering of the people in Himachal Pradesh,” he said. “From the government’s side, we’ve contributed Rs 5 crore to Himachal’s CM Relief Fund. Now, the party is stepping up too, guided by the principle of ‘Seva Hi Dharm, Seva Hi Sangathan’. We’re sending relief materials worth around Rs 45-50 lakh to make a real difference.”

This act of solidarity highlights India’s unity in tough times. Saha recalled how people from across the country rallied to support Tripura during its crisis last year. He also stressed that both the Tripura government and BJP remain committed to serving under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President J.P. Nadda.

Earlier, in another X post, CM Saha expressed his condolences for the lives lost in the Himachal Pradesh floods. He mentioned speaking directly with Himachal’s Chief Minister to offer support. “On behalf of Tripura’s people, we stand firmly with our brothers and sisters there,” he added, reaffirming the Rs 5 crore contribution for relief efforts.

Such gestures of help from Tripura to Himachal Pradesh not only aid flood victims but also strengthen national bonds during natural disasters.
