Mumbai Indians are already drawing big names for the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL). The two‑time champions have locked in top talent ahead of a huge auction set for November 27 in New Delhi.
Key Retentions
- Nat Sciver‑Brunt – The England all‑rounder, who took the WPL’s Player of the Tournament award in 2025, was named the first pick for Mumbai Indians. She will be paid a whopping ₹3.5 crore, surpassing even the captain, Harmanpreet Kaur.
- Harmanpreet Kaur – The India skipper, who led her team to a Women’s ODI World Cup title, will follow as the second retention at ₹2.5 crore.
- Hayley Matthews – West Indies captain, brought in for her power‑packed batting and handy bowling.
- Amanjot Kaur – India’s seam‑bowling all‑rounder, adds pace and depth.
- G Kamalini – The 19‑year‑old wicket‑keeper batter, who won the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, will add youthful energy.
Why Nat first? Sources say Harmanpreet chose to prioritize team chemistry for the next season, giving Nat the top slot. The Mumbai Indians plan to create a balanced squad: aggression, skill, and composure.
