Katy Perry talks about vulnerability while releasing new song ‘Bandaids’

Los Angeles – Pop star Katy Perry sent a heartfelt thank‑you to her fans for the outpouring of love around her new single “Bandaids.” The 2024 release came after months of doubt, and the singer opened up on social media about the challenge of bringing a so‑personal song to the world.
Perry posted a series of behind‑the‑scenes photos and videos from the track‑making process and wrote, “Thanks for the love on bandaids. I struggled for months with the idea of putting this song out. Even after all these years it can be scary to be vulnerable…” She added that she hopes the lyrics will reach people who are going through tough times and help them feel less alone.
The artist, known for mega‑hits like “Roar” and “Firework,” has sold over 151 million records worldwide. She is a frequent name in pop trend reports and was named one of the greatest pop stars of the 21st century by Billboard. Six of her songs have earned RIAA Diamond certifications, and her trophy case includes five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, a Brit Award, a Juno Award, and the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
In September, Perry celebrated the first anniversary of her album “143,” posting an ode to her core fans—called “Katy Cats”—and sharing a long note of gratitude. Fans continue to rally behind her, and “Bandaids” is already climbing streaming charts.
