B’desh Awami League’s student wing condemns Delhi blast, blames Pak-backed extremist groups

Dhaka, Nov. 12 – A deadly car blast outside Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station on Monday night shocked the city, killing and injuring several people. Bangladesh’s student wing of the ruling Awami League, the Bangladesh Student League, called the attack “brutal and destabilising” and blamed extremist groups backed by Pakistan’s long‑standing terror network.

In a statement issued this morning, the Student League slammed the blast as “a despicable act carried out by groups that receive ideological and logistical support from Pakistan’s terrorist infrastructure.” The statement said the pattern of the attack shows a “well‑recognised strategy” to export militancy, fracture social harmony and disrupt regional stability.

“We have no tolerance for terrorism, extremism, or radicalism in any form,” the League said. “Anyone who supports or excuses these forces is standing against humanity, justice and the shared aspirations of people in the sub‑continent.”

President‑elect Sheikh Hasina, the former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, also condemned the explosion. In a statement posted on the Awami League’s social media page, she expressed deep sorrow for the loss of innocent lives and extended condolences to the bereaved families. She called the attack “unacceptable under any circumstances” and warned that Pakistan‑rooted terrorist groups pose a grave threat to regional peace.

“We must resist these terrorists and preserve South Asian peace and stability by building bonds between peoples,” Hasina said. “The Bangladesh Awami League fully supports India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this principled struggle against terrorism.”

The Delhi blast highlights growing concerns about cross‑border terrorism and the influence of Pakistan‑based extremist networks in South Asia. Local authorities are investigating the incident while international leaders call for stronger cooperation to counter violent extremism.
