Bihar Murder Shocker: JD(U) Promises Quick Probe into RJD Leader Rajkumar Rai’s Killing
In a tragic incident that’s shaken Bihar’s political circles, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Rajkumar Rai, popularly known as Allah Rai, was shot dead by two unknown attackers in Patna on Wednesday. The killing happened just months before the state’s crucial assembly elections, raising serious questions about law and order in Bihar.
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan Prasad spoke to and assured everyone of a fast and fair investigation. "No matter what happens in Bihar, the police won’t sit idle," he said. "We get why the opposition is upset, but our government is all about good governance and strong law enforcement. Bihar police will crack down hard and make sure the culprits face justice."
Adding fuel to the fire, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Malook Nagar hinted at a possible political angle. "There are whispers that some INDIA bloc leaders could be involved, especially with elections so close," he told . "But the government stands with the victim’s family. We’re pushing for a thorough probe, and no one will escape if they’re guilty. This isn’t the time for conspiracies to win hearts—justice will come through."
On the flip side, opposition MP from Purnea, Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, slammed the Nitish Kumar government hard. "Allah Rai was disabled, yet they gunned him down. His wife is also handicapped, and he was just minding his small shop," Pappu Yadav said. "This shows the real law and order mess in Bihar. The state’s in total chaos, the system has broken down. Politicians are election-obsessed, but ordinary folks live in fear. How can we even dream of fair elections like this?"
The attack took place in Patna’s Munnachak area in Chitragupta Nagar. Sources say Allah Rai was set to contest the upcoming Bihar assembly elections from the Raghopur constituency, making his death even more suspicious.
Police suspect a land dispute as the motive, since Rai was involved in land-related businesses. When they got the call, officers rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors couldn’t save him. At the scene, they found six empty cartridges. Patna Eastern SP Parichay Kumar shared that CCTV footage shows the attackers running away, and teams are working round-the-clock to nab them.
As Bihar gears up for polls, this murder has spotlighted the growing concerns over Bihar law and order situation. Stay tuned for updates on the investigation into Allah Rai’s murder.
