India’s top badminton stars Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand opened their 2025 Syed Modi International campaign with a hard‑won victory, setting a strong tone for the nation’s day at Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium.

The leading women’s‑doubles pair stumbled out of the blocks but regrouped to beat Malaysia’s Cheng Su Hui and Tan Zhing Yi 19‑21, 22‑20, 21‑9 in their first encounter.
