Ayodhya: Police tighten security arrangements, conduct site inspections ahead of Mauritius PM’s visit

Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: Security is tight in Ayodhya as the district administration and police wrap up final preparations for Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam’s visit on Friday. The top cop in the area, Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover, shared these updates with on Thursday.

Grover explained that officials and security teams got a full rundown of the PM’s schedule, from his arrival to departure. “We’ve pulled out all the stops in Ayodhya,” he said. “The administration and police have checked every spot and sorted all arrangements. We’ve brought in extra officials and forces from outside, and we held a detailed briefing today.”

To make sure everything goes smoothly, they’ve created a super-detailed, minute-by-minute plan for security and logistics. “The whole itinerary—from landing at the airport to heading out—has been mapped out precisely,” Grover added. “All duties are in place to ensure the visit wraps up without a hitch.”

This stop in Ayodhya comes right after Ramgoolam’s trip to Varanasi. There, he’ll pay his respects at the famous Ram Temple, highlighting the deep cultural bonds between India and Mauritius.

Earlier on Thursday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Ramgoolam in Varanasi—his own parliamentary seat—and the two leaders had productive talks. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said: “His visit to Kashi is extra special because of the city’s cultural vibes and our strong India-Mauritius links. We covered bilateral cooperation in full, plus regional and global matters. We’ve decided to boost ties in infrastructure, healthcare, digital technology, energy, maritime security, and more.”

The duo held a warm bilateral meeting, shaking hands and showing the solid friendship between the two nations. At a joint press briefing after signing some documents, PM Modi beamed with pride. “Welcoming our Mauritius friends today isn’t just official—it’s spiritual,” he said. “India and Mauritius aren’t just partners; we’re family. Mauritius plays a key role in our ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and the grand vision of Mahasagar.”
