Jaipur, Dec 4 – Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma announced that Rajasthan is hitting fresh development milestones and wants the state’s diaspora to help carry the momentum forward. To that end, the government is hosting a big Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas on December 10, inviting people from every corner of society and the economy to take part.

During a video call from his home, Sharma called on all‑India and central service officers of Rajasthani origin posted across the country to join the event. He pointed out how their work has been pivotal in turning Rajasthan into a growing investment hub, and how their expertise, ideas and networks are key to speed‑up growth and attract new capital.

He highlighted that Rajasthan, the country’s largest state by area, holds huge investment potential. The government is pushing hard in priority sectors—tourism, energy, water, power and industry—to unlock that worth. At last year’s Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit, agreements worth ₹35 lakh crore were signed, and groundbreaking ceremonies have already started on projects valued at ₹7 lakh crore, signalling strong investor confidence.

Sharma noted that officers of Rajasthani background maintain a deep emotional link to both their current posts and to their homeland. Many have introduced notable innovations and best practices in their fields. He described these officers as a vital bridge between the state government and the global Rajasthani diaspora, urging them to invite non‑resident Rajasthanis, entrepreneurs and investors to explore opportunities across diverse sectors. He also requested their active participation and valuable suggestions for the state’s development.

The Chief Minister stressed that non‑resident Rajasthanis have earned worldwide recognition through their dedication, entrepreneurship and leadership, boosting the state’s prestige at home and abroad. To strengthen this bond, the government has set up a dedicated Non‑Resident Rajasthani Department to focus on the concerns of Rajasthani‑origin residents living outside the state.

He expressed confidence that the upcoming Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas will give the diaspora a fresh impetus to engage and open new avenues for investment, innovation and growth.

During the meeting, officers praised the CM’s initiative to reconnect officials of Rajasthani origin with their homeland and the development agenda. They reaffirmed their emotional bond with Rajasthan and lauded the government’s ease‑of‑doing‑business reforms and industry‑friendly policies.

The officers shared experiences from their respective states and offered constructive ideas on several fronts: streamlining the single‑window clearance system, enhancing tourism branding and marketing, planning sustainable urban development, promoting eco‑tourism, improving logistics and warehousing, and boosting investment in textiles and other key sectors.

Key participants—including Manoj Joshi, Vivek Bhardwaj, Babulal Meena, Anju Sharma, O.P. Gupta, Tanmay Kumar, Sunil Paliwal, Naresh Pal Gangwar and others—contributed their suggestions via video conferencing. Chief Secretary V. Srinivas and other senior state officials were also present.
