Alleged gang hit man captured after yearslong manhunt for 3 separate murders in Philadelphia: ‘The very worst’

A 25‑year‑old suspected hit‑man for a Philadelphia crew has been taken into custody after investigators say he was wanted for three murders, one of them involving a 16‑year‑old victim.
Tyvine Jones was seized on Wednesday at an apartment complex in Delaware County, according to the U.S. Marshals Service in Philadelphia.
In a statement, Eric Gartner, an Eastern District of Pennsylvania marshal, noted that Jones had been on the city’s “Most Wanted” list for his alleged role in killing three people between 2020 and 2022.
Authorities say Jones, a member of the “Blumberg” gang, is connected to homicides that occurred in Philadelphia in August 2020, May 2022, and September 2022. All three victims—aged 16, 20 and 23—suffered gunshot wounds, though details were not released.
Supervisory Deputy Marshal Robert Clark had previously described Jones as “the very worst society has to offer.”
His disregard for life poses a clear risk to the public, Clark added, and he should be treated as armed and extremely dangerous.
The takedown was prompted by an anonymous tip directing the task force to the Stratford Court Apartments, where officers, alongside Pennsylvania Attorney General agents and Philadelphia homicide detectives, surrounded the building and located Jones.
Jones was brought into custody unharmed and is now being processed by the Philadelphia Homicide Detective Division.
Gartner closed his remarks by reaffirming the city’s commitment to pursue violent fugitives like Jones, stressing that such individuals tarnish the reputation of Philadelphia.
