ICE posts about man accused of threatening federal agents online: ‘Welcome to the find out stage’

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) shared a photo on Friday showing the Tulsa, Oklahoma resident who is accused of threatening federal agents being pulled aside by a Homeland Security Investigations officer. The agency reminded readers that “Threatening to assault, murder or interfere with a federal agent is a FELONY.” In a tweet on X, ICE posted that “Logan Murfin of Tulsa, OK, has been charged with ten counts after posting on social media that federal agents need to be gunned down, shot & executed,” adding, “Welcome to the find out stage, Logan.” The image captures Murfin being detained, with a holiday backdrop that reads “Season’s Greetings” in the background.
Separately, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Oklahoma filed a statement on Thursday outlining the charges. Murfin is facing five counts of threatening to assault and murder federal law‑enforcement officers—with the goal to impede, intimidate, interfere, and retaliate—and another five counts for interstate communication that includes threats of bodily harm. Court filings reveal that he deliberately posted multiple menacing comments on social media, calling for the harming and killing of federal agents. He even urged others to remain armed and to shoot agents on sight, claiming the agents “don’t deserve to live.”
