New Delhi, Dec 13 (LatestNewsX) – Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) announced on Saturday that its sales for November 2025 were notably strong, posting a 27 % year‑on‑year jump.
Retail volumes rose 69 % to 0.14 million tonnes in November, up from 0.084 million tonnes a year earlier, the company said.
The growth was spread across all categories and channels, led by domestic saleable steel, road dispatches, and door‑to‑door deliveries from warehouses. SAIL also topped the list of TMT bar suppliers in the country for the month.
From April to November 2025, cumulative sales hit 12.7 million tonnes, a 14 % increase compared with 11.1 million tonnes in the same period last year.
The firm credits its resilient performance to a robust sales strategy and the SAIL team’s persistent effort in the market, even amid global price pressures and demand swings caused by trade policy uncertainties and geopolitical tensions.
Retail sales for the April‑November window climbed to 0.97 million tonnes, a 13 % rise over 0.86 million tonnes in the prior year.
Ongoing nationwide brand promotion campaigns are also said to support this growth.
Overall, the results illustrate a customer‑centric approach, market leadership, and operational excellence in challenging global conditions.
In October, SAIL met the entire need for special‑grade steel for the INS Androth, a milestone in India’s journey toward defence self‑reliance, the company added.
The same supplier also delivered the full quantity of special‑grade steel—HR sheets and plates—for the eight ASW‑SWCs, including INS Arnala and Androth, being constructed by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd. (GRSE).
