Powerball jackpot grows to colossal $1.10B after Saturday’s drawing

Saturday night’s Powerball drawing saw its jackpot climb to an eye‑popping $1.1 billion after no one hit the $1 billion prize, marking the seventh‑largest win in the game’s history.
The winning combination turned out to be 1, 28, 31, 57, 58, with the Powerball number being 16—just a notch below the $1.08 billion hit that occurred on July 19, 2023, in downtown Los Angeles.
The most recent winners, a pair of players from Missouri and Texas, split a staggering $1.787 billion on September 6, making it the second‑largest lottery payout ever recorded.
Still, it wasn’t all lost for the night: two ticketholders from North Carolina and Pennsylvania walked away with $2 million after matching all five white balls and adding the Power Play feature.
Five other fortunate winners—one each from California, Florida, Michigan, New Jersey, and Virginia—each took home $1 million for the same five‑number match.
