Rob Reiner said he felt ‘absolute horror’ watching Charlie Kirk’s assassination in one of his final interviews

In one of his last public interviews before his killing, Hollywood icon Rob Reiner said he felt “absolute horror” over the assassination of Charlie Kirk and praised Kirk’s widow for her capacity to forgive.

Reiner, who was fatally stabbed along with his wife at their Los Angeles home on Sunday, spoke with Piers Morgan just weeks after Kirk was killed in September. During the interview, the filmmaker said he was deeply shaken by the death of the conservative activist.

“Horror. An absolute horror,” Reiner said when Morgan asked him about the shooting.

“I unfortunately saw the video of it and it’s beyond belief what happened to him and that should never happen to anybody. I don’t care what your political beliefs are. That’s not acceptable,” Reiner told Morgan.

The outspoken Democrat went on to say he was especially moved by comments made by Erika Kirk during a memorial service for the Turning Point USA founder.

“What his wife said at … the memorial they had was exactly right. And totally I believe — you know I’m Jewish — but I believe in the teachings of Jesus and I believe… in forgiveness,” Reiner said.

“And what she said to me was beautiful — you know she forgave his assassin and I think that that is admirable.”
