Elderly couple dressed as Santa Claus, Mrs.Claus pulled over for speeding in Ohio: ‘Santa has a CCW?’
A pair of senior citizens pulled off a holiday caper in Fulton County, Ohio, when they showed up at their daughter’s office in full Santa & Mrs. Claus gear – only to find the stop sign waiting for them on the highway.
The couple, who were on their way to surprise their daughter at work, were caught going fast by a deputy with a body‑camera in his hand. When the officer rolled up, he instantly spotted the red suit and the hat over the passenger seat. “Santa!” the deputy called over the flashlight, then burst into laughter when the driver—who quickly answered back that he was Santa—claimed to have a concealed carry weapon. The deputy’s chuckle turned into a giddy remark about the “North Pole” being a different world now.
The deputy explained that the vehicle had been exceeding the speed limit, and asked for the driver’s license. Santa, who admittedly had been distracted by the excitement of getting to the office, tried to find his ID. He joked that “Santa is 100 years old” while the deputy kept the mood light, threatening to take away any gifts Santa’s got on tap. Mrs. Claus, sitting in the passenger seat, defended herself, saying “It’s Nick, you know!” and added that he’d have to “get Rudolph on you” if the officer didn’t slow down.
After the deputy issued a friendly warning, the trio posed for a photo requested by Mrs. Claus, and the deputy posted the clip to Facebook with a playful caption: “Ho ho hold on! Santa and Mrs. Claus were spotted flying a little too fast through Fulton County. No coal was issued—just a friendly reminder that even sleighs need to slow down. Christmas is still on schedule! Stay safe and happy holidays!”
The incident, recorded on the sheriff’s body‑cam, highlights the fun side of holiday policing while reminding everyone that even Santa must obey speed limits. For those hoping to catch a glimpse of the real Santa on Christmas Eve, the NORAD tracker keeps a live map of his route.
