A former reality‑TV personality who once spotlighted suburban swingers has been taken into custody in Ohio on felony charges that involve a minor and animals.
Tony McCollister, who appeared on A&E’s 2015 short‑lived series Neighbors With Benefits, was arrested in Warren County.
Prosecutors say he was charged with pandering obscenity involving a minor and with sexual conduct with animals. The case also alleges that McCollister stored child‑sexual‑abuse material on a Google account and performed sexual acts with two dogs he owned.
McCollister was arraigned early this week and set a $250,000 bond. He is currently jailed at the Warren County facility and faces a follow‑up court appearance on December 30. No plea has been entered at this time.
The arrest has reignited interest in the docuseries that aired for just two episodes before being pulled in response to backlash. Neighbors With Benefits followed married couples who practiced swinging while raising children and handling ordinary jobs, aiming to portray swingers as everyday families. The network later decided not to air the remaining episodes, shelving the series entirely after several were already filmed.
Authorities have not publicly released how the investigation began or when the alleged offenses occurred. They have also not indicated whether additional charges may arise as the probe continues.
McCollister’s mugshot shows the former star staring blankly at the camera, a stark contrast to the carefully curated image once played in living‑room sets across the country. The felony counts carry the possibility of significant prison time if he is convicted. He remains in custody as the case moves forward, and he has not spoken to reporters.
