India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal shared an optimistic vision for the country’s future during a preview event for the upcoming 30th CII Partnership Summit in New Delhi. Speaking on Monday, Goyal highlighted three key principles guiding India’s progress: Aatmanirbharta for self-reliance, Aatmavishwas for self-confidence, and Aatmaraksha for self-protection.

“We’re building strong capabilities, tough supply chains, and lively value chains while stepping up on the global stage with confidence and responsibility,” Goyal said at the Curtain Raiser event. This gathering drew top dignitaries, diplomats, industry leaders, and policymakers to kick off one of the year’s biggest forums for economic teamwork.

The full summit, set for November 14-15, 2025, in Visakhapatnam, will bring together experts from various sectors to build partnerships, boost growth, and spark innovation for a greener tomorrow. Goyal pointed out India’s spot as the world’s fastest-growing major economy, fueled by its young, ambitious population. “India is becoming the go-to spot for global investments,” he added.

He also praised recent changes to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) system, calling it a game-changer. “These reforms make taxes simpler, ease the load on consumers, and fire up growth through spending. Our aim is a steady, fair tax setup that draws in long-term cash and makes business easier,” Goyal explained.

Goyal gave a shout-out to the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for sparking fresh ideas and connections. He warmly invited global leaders to join the summit, themed “Technology, Trust, and Trade: Navigating the New Geoeconomic Order.” CII is teaming up with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with Andhra Pradesh as the host state.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, speaking at the event, celebrated his state’s seventh time hosting the summit. “This platform has been huge for promoting our state, pulling in investments, and connecting globally,” Naidu said. He outlined big plans for infrastructure along the 1,000 km east coast, including a port every 50 km, more airports, and top-notch logistics hubs.

“Andhra Pradesh tops the charts for ease of doing business, and now we’re speeding up even more,” he noted. Naidu introduced the “Swarna Andhra @ 2047” vision, backed by 21 policies covering IT, food processing, clean energy, electronics, and beyond. It rests on 10 core ideas like wiping out poverty, weaving in deep tech, securing water, mastering global logistics, and empowering farmers with Agri-Tech.

Naidu stressed an inclusive approach: “We’ve moved from public-private partnerships to a P4 model—Public-Private-People Partnership—that brings social good into business deals.”

CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee wrapped up with exciting numbers: Over 30 global ministers, more than 100 international speakers, and 2,000-plus delegates and CEOs from India and abroad have already signed up. “In Visakhapatnam, expect top-notch talks and networking that mix business with personal ties. We’ll dive into topics like industry, economy, people, and the world’s future,” Banerjee said.
