Gujarat CM inaugurates Bharat Parv-2025 at Ekta Nagar

In Gandhinagar on Nov. 1, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel officially opened Bharat Parv‑2025 inside the Statue of Unity complex at Ekta Nagar. The ceremony gathered Assembly Speaker Shankar Chaudhary, Minister of State for Tribal Development P. C. Baranda, and a host of other dignitaries.

The festival marks the 150th anniversary of Vallabhbhai Patel, the “Iron Man” who united India’s princely states. Patel’s legacy echoes Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message that India is one nation, one people, one language, and one tricolour. Modi’s leadership turns the Statue of Unity – the world’s tallest monument – into a symbol of that unity and a beacon of development for a “Shreshtha Bharat”.

Patel said the celebrations are more than formalities. Since 2014 Modi has turned Sardar Patel’s birthday into National Unity Day, inspiring the country to honour Patel’s role in creating a single India. The festival will showcase the spirit of “Ek Bharat – Shreshtha Bharat” through cultural shows, food, and handicrafts.

Over the next 15 days, two states will perform each evening. Visitors can taste dishes from 45 food stalls and a live kitchen and shop at 55 handicraft and handloom stalls. The Bharat Darshan Pavilion will display state‑specific tourist spots and cultural highlights. On Nov. 15, a special event will celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

Patel noted that Ekta Nagar brings global attention to this tribal region, proving that visionary leadership can transform places. The BJP Prime Minister’s plans for Ekta Nagar and the Statue of Unity aim to make the site a world‑class tourism destination and bolster the Atmanirbhar Bharat goal.

Other leaders present included MP Jashubhai Rathva, MLA Darshanaben Deshmukh, District Collector S. K. Modi, and CEO Amit Arora, among many senior officials. The event underscored the message that India’s diverse festivals—Garba, Ganesh Utsav, Chhath Puja, Durga Puja—link communities across the nation, embodying cultural harmony.

Bharat Parv‑2025 will therefore revive India’s traditions at Ekta Nagar, fulfilling Modi’s vision of “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi” – progress and heritage.
