Air India has arranged a make‑up flight to help more than 250 travelers who were stranded in Milan after flight AI138 was cancelled on October 17. The new flight, AI138D, leaves Milan at 7:00 p.m. local time and reaches Delhi early on October 20.
The cancellation happened when a Boeing 787‑8 Dreamliner encountered an unforeseen technical problem at Milan Airport. With repairs taking longer than expected, the schedule was forced to change.
To keep passengers on track, Air India is offering a full refund or a complimentary seat on the return flight, whichever the traveler prefers. In addition, passengers already at the airport are receiving hotel rooms and daily meals. Because hotel space near the airport is limited, some guests were placed in nearby hotels outside the main terminal area.
Most of the affected customers have now been rebooked on flights that leave on October 20, coinciding with Diwali. The airline says safety and comfort remain its top priority, and thanks everyone for their patience.
If you were on the cancelled flight or know someone who was stranded, check the Air India website or call their customer service for the fastest solution.
