In a big win for Digital India, CSC e-Governance Services India Limited has hit a major milestone by disbursing over Rs 3,000 crore in loans since July 2023. This push for financial inclusion is helping rural folks and small businesses get the credit they need, one village at a time.

The growth has been impressive. In FY 2023-24, they disbursed Rs 86 crore. That jumped to Rs 1,631 crore in FY 2024-25, and already Rs 1,300 crore by August 2025 in the current year. Nearly 70,000 people—many first-time borrowers or from unbanked areas—have benefited so far. These small-ticket loans are supporting rural households, sparking entrepreneurship, and lifting local economies, as per an official update.

Thanks to CSC’s massive network of over 5.8 lakh Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and a key partnership with Piramal Finance, people in remote rural spots now get timely, affordable loans. These options beat out costly local moneylenders, cutting down on exploitative borrowing and closing the credit gap at the grassroots level. It’s all about building stronger livelihoods and self-reliance with real dignity.

Sanjay Kumar Rakesh, MD & CEO of CSC SPV, shared his excitement: “This milestone shows our vision of a digitally empowered India coming to life. Teaming up with Piramal Finance, we’re linking rural citizens to easy financial services and tackling the credit crunch in underserved areas.”

Jagdeep Mallareddy, Chief Business Officer at Piramal Finance, added: “Our tie-up with CSC is key to reaching the last mile. Hitting Rs 3,000 crore in loan disbursals proves the trust from rural India, and we’re all in to push financial inclusion even further.”

This CSC-Piramal Finance collaboration is simplifying loans and opening doors for rural development. By blending CSC’s huge digital network with Piramal’s smart finance tools, they’re making credit more accessible and effective for millions across the country.

As a special purpose vehicle under the Ministry of Electronics & IT, CSC SPV runs one of the world’s largest digital service networks. With those 5.8 lakh VLEs, it brings vital government and financial services right to rural and remote corners, driving digital and financial inclusion forward.
