Collectors in Andhra Pradesh to conduct Industry Day every Tuesday

Andhra Pradesh Launches Weekly Industry Day to Boost Investor Support

In a big push to make doing business easier, Andhra Pradesh’s District Collectors will now hold a special "Industry Day" every Tuesday. This new initiative aims to quickly solve problems faced by investors and industries right at the district level.

Industries Department Secretary N. Yuvraj gave these directions on Monday during a key review meeting with District Collectors at the state Secretariat. He wants this program to work just like the popular Prajavani grievance redressal system that happens on Mondays—offering a direct way for entrepreneurs to voice their concerns and get them fixed fast.

Yuvraj pointed out that the industrial sector is a powerhouse, contributing a whopping 44% to Andhra Pradesh’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP). "We need to give it top priority and make sure investors get speedy help," he said. He urged Collectors to personally meet every entrepreneur and company eyeing investments in their districts. Ground-level issues? Solve them on the spot.

Land tops the list of challenges for setting up industries, so Yuvraj stressed giving it utmost priority. Use government land where possible, or go for land pooling with private owners if needed. He also asked officials to streamline land acquisition processes, set strict timelines for starting projects, and appoint dedicated nodal officers for each economic hub to tackle hurdles without delays.

Don’t forget the small players—Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Yuvraj called them the "backbone of district-level economic growth" and wants special attention for them.

Since the TDP-BJP coalition government took over in June 2024, Andhra Pradesh has approved 122 major projects worth a massive Rs 10,06,799 crore. Over one lakh acres of land is already set aside for current and future industrial clusters. District Collectors got a clear order: Speed up land pooling and allocation to keep things moving.

Exciting updates on defence projects too! The state is building five major defence clusters:

  • A Naval cluster on 3,000 acres between Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam.
  • A Missile and Ammunition cluster on 3,000 acres at Jaggaiahpeta in NTR district.
  • An Unmanned Systems cluster on 3,000 acres at Orvakal in Kurnool district.
  • Aerospace and Electronics clusters on 4,000-5,000 acres between Madakasira and Lepakshi in Anantapur district.
  • An Aircraft component manufacturing cluster on 4,000 acres at Donakonda in Prakasam district.

In just one year under the new government, the Centre has greenlit over 50 projects for Andhra Pradesh’s industrial growth. Yuvraj called on District Collectors to provide all-out support for quick rollout.

This move could supercharge Andhra Pradesh’s investment scene, making it a top choice for industries and MSMEs alike. Keep an eye on how these Industry Days pan out—it’s all about turning ideas into reality faster.
