New Delhi, India (October 6) – After the Election Commission set the dates for the Bihar Legislative Assembly polls, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda sent their well‑wishes to the people of the state. Both leaders said they expect the National Democratic Alliance to win another clear mandate under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Shah called the election a “grand festival of democracy.” He praised the NDA’s work in Bihar, saying that under Modi the state has shed “jungle Raj” and is moving toward development and good governance. In a short X post (formerly Twitter), Shah congratulated the people of Bihar on the upcoming polls and expressed full confidence that voters will choose the development agenda again.
BJP chief JP Nadda also welcomed the announcement. He highlighted that elections are the cornerstone of India’s democracy and essential for continuing progress. In his X message, Nadda said the Bihar polls are a “greatest festival of democracy” and that the NDA’s focus on welfare, infrastructure, health and education will guide the state forward. He added that the NDA has become synonymous with public welfare in Bihar and that the people will likely give the party a strong vote.
The Election Commission will hold the 243‑seat assembly election in two phases – November 6 and November 11 – with counting on November 14. This comes amidst a wave of public support for the NDA’s development agenda and a push to keep the “cradle of democracy” on a modern path.
