Eco Warrior Awards 2025 Lights Up New Delhi with Conservation Heroes
New Delhi buzzed with excitement on September 12 as the Eco Warrior Awards 2025 and the 3rd Eco Warrior Conclave celebrated India’s top environmental champions. Organized by Indian Masterminds in partnership with the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Association, this event spotlighted real heroes working to protect forests, wildlife, and the planet. From innovative projects to tireless officers, it was all about building a greener India.
The evening kicked off with a moving tribute for National Forest Martyrs Day, honoring brave souls who lost their lives safeguarding India’s forests and animals. Chief Guest Bharat Lal, Secretary General of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), joined senior IFS officers, corporate leaders, and eco-stars like Ramveer Tanwar (the famous Pondman of India) and IRS officer Rohit Mehra (the Green Man of India). Other key attendees included S.K. Awasthi, Director General of Forests; C.P. Goyal from the Central Empowered Committee; Dr. S.P. Yadav from the International Big Cat Alliance; and Jyotsna Sitling, Patron of the IFS Association.
Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav, couldn’t make it due to a last-minute Prime Minister’s event, but he shared an inspiring video message. "Our forest officers work round the clock to keep nature in balance," he said. He praised the IFS Association’s role in conserving India’s natural treasures and highlighted challenges like human-wildlife conflicts, forest degradation, and boosting green cover. "These awards motivate us to aim for net zero, just like nature teaches us," the minister added. He urged young officers to drive ecological and economic growth by protecting the environment.
Monalisa Das, Secretary General of the IFS Association, opened with a keynote on India’s rising forest cover on the global stage. The conclave featured lively panel discussions: one on eco-tourism led by IFS officer Vidya Bhushan, showing how sustainable travel boosts conservation and local communities; and another on building environmental awareness, guided by Satendra Kumar Singh, turning talk into real action.
Adding flair, wildlife photographer and filmmaker Mohd Aslam Warisi displayed stunning photos that captured the beauty of India’s wild side.
