Premier League: Leeds United beat West Ham 2-1 for third win

Leeds United won a hard‑knock 2‑1 match at Elland Road, lifting the team to 13th place in the Premier League.
The home side scored early and stayed ahead, while West Ham United struggled to find form behind manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Leeds take control early
Brenden Aaronson broke the dead‑lock in the third minute after a close‑range scramble. He slipped past goalkeeper Alphonse Areola for a quick lead.
West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen almost levelled the score with a bicycle kick, but Lucas Perri cleared the effort.

Leeds double
Five minutes later, Joe Rodon headed in from a corner to make it 2‑0. The win set the tone for the rest of the game, with Leeds dominating possession and earning the crowd’s cheers.

West Ham fight back
Lucas Paqueta appeared to pull one back in the 34th minute, but VAR ruled him offside.
Callum Wilson was brought on in the second half, but Leeds kept pressure on the visitors, with Aaronson striking the crossbar and Jack Harrison forcing a costly save from Areola.

Late consolation for West Ham
Mateus Fernandes managed a late goal in stoppage time, glancing in from Bowen’s cross. The consolation was too little and too late, as Leeds stayed ahead until the final whistle.

The result snapped Leeds’ four‑game winless streak and left West Ham in their worst start to a season since 1973‑74. With the victory, Leeds United re‑established themselves as contenders for a mid‑table finish.
