Jaipur, Oct 21 — Rajasthan is launching its first electric‑bus factory in the Ghiloth Industrial Area of Neemrana, in the Kotputli‑Behror district. The state government has already freed 65.56 acres (265,329 sq m) of land for the project through RIICO, following a memorandum of understanding signed at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit.
PMI Electro Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd. will build the plant with an initial investment of about ₹1,200 crore. The facility will produce not just buses but also bus bodies, electric motors, batteries, wire harnesses and other essential components, making it a one‑stop hub for electric vehicle parts.
A delegation from PMI met Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma at his residence on Tuesday to thank him for the quick land allocation. CM Sharma reaffirmed the state’s commitment to industrial growth, job creation and infrastructure expansion. He said the plant is a key step toward Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Make in India” vision and will position Rajasthan as a leading centre for electric‑vehicle manufacturing.
“This initiative will create many direct and indirect jobs and will train young people in the emerging field of electromobility,” CM Sharma said. “E‑buses will help us shift to green energy, support sustainable urban transport and make our environment cleaner.”
Officials described the new plant as a “new era of green transportation” for the desert state. The 65‑acre site will house a state‑of‑the‑art facility that will supply affordable e‑buses to the nation, boosting the electric‑mobility ecosystem.
The plant is expected to generate thousands of jobs for Rajasthan’s youth and open up technical training opportunities. It will also attract investment, give the state a green‑innovation edge and help cut pollution in the region.
As CM Sharma noted, the e‑bus factory marks the start of a new chapter in Rajasthan’s green industrial revolution, bringing the state closer to becoming a national leader in sustainable transport.
