One month to go: Countdown begins for 2025-26 edition of FIH Hockey Pro League

Lausanne, Nov 10 – The 2025‑26 FIH Pro League is about to kick off, and fans can already feel the pulse of Olympic‑style excitement. The next edition of hockey’s “League of the Best” will start on Dec 9 and run across nine top‑tier nations in both men’s and women’s events. It’s not just a title hunt—this season marks the first time the league’s champions earn a place in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

The opening rounds will be staged in Ireland and Argentina, followed by 13 match‑days in 10 countries that bring live, fast‑paced action to fans worldwide. Every goal, every point, and every win matters because a Pro League victory now means a direct ticket to LA28.

FIH President Tayyab Ikram highlighted the stakes. “The Pro League is a global showcase of world‑class athletes,” he said. “This time the stakes are higher than ever. The men’s and women’s champions will secure Olympic qualification, so the pressure is on for every team.”

The Netherlands enters the competition as the reigning champion on both sides of the pitch, looking to defend its titles. Argentina’s women, plus the men’s squads from Brazil and other top countries, are set to challenge. Women’s teams from Australia, Belgium, China, England, Germany, Ireland, and Spain will also contest for the trophy.

India’s men have a busy schedule ahead. They start in February 2026 with two home matches against Belgium and Argentina at Birsa Munda Stadium in Rourkela. Then they’ll head to Hobart for games against Australia and Spain. Later in the season, they’ll travel to the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre near London for matches against England and Pakistan, before returning to the Netherlands and Belgium for the World Cup later that summer.

With a month to go before the first match, fans across the globe can’t wait to see the world’s best hockey talent compete. From Ireland to Argentina, beachside arenas to bustling city stadiums, the 2025‑26 FIH Pro League promises adrenaline‑filled games and a chance to claim Olympic ambition.
