Bengaluru’s Geri Care just wrapped up its exciting 3rd Geri Care Geriatric Conclave, teaming up with the 2nd Asian Geriatric Oncology Society (AGOS) Conference. This two-day event in Bengaluru focused on “Empowering Ageing – Insights in Geriatrics & Oncology.” Experts from India and around the world gathered to talk about the big challenges and fresh opportunities in elder care and geriatric oncology.
The conference kicked off with a star-studded inauguration. Key figures included Dr. N. Lakshmipathy Ramesh, Founder & Managing Director of Geri Care; Dr. V. Srinivas, Co-Founder; Dr. Purvish Parikh, President of AGOS; Dr. Rejiv Rajendranath, a top Senior Medical Oncologist at Geri Care and a trailblazer in geriatric oncology in India; Dr. Surekha V, President of the Indian Association of Geriatrics and Professor at CMC Vellore; Dr. Dominic G Benjamin, President of the IAG Karnataka Chapter; and Dr. Sundar Sankaran, Senior Nephrologist and Program Director at Aster Institute of Renal Transplantation. Many other respected doctors joined in too.
Attendees enjoyed a packed schedule of panel discussions, paper presentations, poster sessions, interactive case studies, and even a fun quiz for postgraduate students in geriatrics and oncology. It all sparked lively chats and teamwork among the crowd. Over 200 faculty members, delegates, and medical students showed up, turning the event into a buzzing hub for sharing ideas and boosting awareness on holistic elder care.
In his opening speech, Dr. N. Lakshmipathy Ramesh shared his vision: “By 2030, India will have the world’s largest elderly population, and we need to build the right expertise, infrastructure, and care systems for our seniors. At Geri Care, we’re all in on this journey. This conclave connects top experts in medicine, geriatrics, and oncology to collaborate and make real changes. The event has grown bigger each year, inspiring the next wave of specialists. With new programs and dedicated facilities, we’re pushing geriatrics to become everyday care, not just a special case. A big thanks to everyone who made it a hit—we can’t wait for next year’s even bigger show!”
Dr. Purvish Parikh, AGOS President, added, “As our population ages, health issues pile up, and cancer hits older folks the hardest. Events like this let us team up to create better guidelines and treatments that truly help elderly oncology patients.”
Dr. Surekha V, from the Indian Association of Geriatrics, chimed in: “Geriatrics is crucial for India right now. It’s inspiring to see Geri Care leading the way with full-circle elder care—from home services and assisted living to onco-geriatrics. The possibilities are endless, but every step we take really touches the lives and hearts of our elders.”
This conclave highlights Geri Care’s strong push to grow medical knowledge, back research, and spark conversations that build a solid base for elder healthcare in India and worldwide.
