Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has warmly welcomed the new GST reforms approved by the GST Council. He called these changes a “true Diwali gift” to the nation, highlighting their importance for everyday people. In a social media post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Pawan Kalyan praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government for introducing these next-generation GST reforms. He said that after promising big changes during Independence Day from the Red Fort, the government has made efforts to reduce the GST burden on citizens. Pawan Kalyan appreciated that the new reforms provide important relief for the poor, middle class, farmers, and healthcare sectors. They also include the complete removal of GST on education and insurance—two vital areas that help safeguard lives and empower future generations. He believes these changes will make life easier for countless families. He expressed gratitude to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and the GST Council for focusing on the welfare of people. He also noted that, following the earlier increase in income tax exemption, these GST reforms are seen as a major gift to the nation, just in time for Diwali. Chandrababu Naidu, chief of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), called the reforms pro-poor and aimed at boosting growth. Naidu believes these changes will benefit everyone, from farmers to small businesses. BJP MP Daggubati Purandeswari also praised the reforms, recalling Prime Minister Modi's announcement of “Next-Generation GST Reforms” on Independence Day. She said the GST Council’s approval aligns with that vision, focusing on easing living costs and simplifying doing business across sectors. Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said these tax cuts will give a boost to the economy, help small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), farmers, and the agriculture sector. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for this historic reform, believing it will strengthen economic progress and empower citizens. Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar also called the reforms a “true Diwali gift,” emphasizing that they will reduce costs for families, farmers, and businesses while making daily life more affordable and boosting the overall economy.
