India’s biggest shopping extravaganza kicked off with a bang as Flipkart’s Big Billion Days 2025 launched its Early Access phase at midnight on September 21. Shoppers flocked to Flipkart Minutes, the platform’s instant delivery service, drawing over 4.5 million unique visitors and doubling order volumes from typical days. This surge shows how Indians are embracing festive shopping in real time—quick, fun, and on a massive scale.

New users jumped 2.6 times higher than before the festival, proving the appeal of lightning-fast deliveries. In the very first hour, from midnight to 1 a.m., Flipkart Minutes delivered an iPhone in under three minutes, highlighting the speed of modern quick commerce.

Celebrations aren’t waiting around anymore. Customers grabbed everything from everyday staples like ghee, atta, and energy drinks to high-end gadgets such as smartphones and laptops. One order mixed dry fruits, medicines, home goods, and groceries, while another shopper splurged Rs. 1.57 lakh on an iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Smartphones stole the show, with one in five buyers during peak hours swapping old devices through Flipkart’s exchange program. Technicians handled doorstep assessments in about 30 minutes, a fresh twist on festive upgrades.

Recent Next-Gen GST reforms added extra joy, letting shoppers save more as sellers passed on the benefits. Flipkart made sure these perks reached customers, turning Big Billion Days into a smarter way to shop during the festival season.

Early data paints a vivid picture of India’s instant festive vibe: big-ticket items like gadgets flew off virtual shelves as fast as midnight munchies, and daily essentials arrived right on time for rituals.

Smartphones led the charge. The iPhone 16 topped sales, with that record-breaking three-minute delivery. Trust in Flipkart Minutes for premium buys, including flagship Android phones, points to a shift toward high-value quick commerce.

Cities lit up with excitement. Metro hubs like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Kolkata saw orders double from regular days. Pune and the tricity area (Ambala, Chandigarh, Panchkula) exploded with a 4X increase, while Tier 2+ spots like Jaipur, Patna, Kanpur, and Mysore followed suit, spreading the quick commerce boom beyond big cities.

Flipkart Minutes powered more than just tech. Electronics such as boAt soundbars, trimmers, fitness bands, chargers, and iPads surged as shoppers hunted value-packed gadgets for gifting and festivities. Last-minute buys shone too: dry fruits and makhanas from brands like Farmley, Classic, and Zoff, plus energy drinks like Sting and Hell, saw huge demand. Watches from Fossil and Peter England also gained traction for stylish, practical festive picks.

Hemant Badri, Senior Vice President and Head of Minutes, Supply Chain, Customer Experience, and ReCommerce at Flipkart Group, shared his excitement: “This Big Billion Days marks a turning point in how India shops. For the first time, millions of customers are celebrating the country’s biggest shopping festival not just online, but instantly—with Flipkart Minutes delivering everything from ice creams to iPhones in just 10 minutes. Thanks to the recent GST reforms, this festive season has become even more fulfilling for customers as they save more while shopping for their favorite products on Minutes. What excites us most is not just the scale, but the diversity of what Indians are choosing—from last-minute festive gifts and gourmet treats to trending smartphones, all delivered faster than ever imagined. The momentum we see across metros and Tier II+ cities signals a cultural shift: shopping today is about immediacy, joy, and trust. At Flipkart, we’re proud to shape this new chapter in India’s festive movement, where every order fulfilled in minutes is a celebration delivered.”

All the top deals from Big Billion Days 2025 are available on Flipkart Minutes, covering essentials, electronics, festive foods, and gifts. This year, the service transforms 10-minute delivery into a nationwide party of options, savings, and ease.
