Adani Group Files Defamation Case Against YouTuber Abhisar Sharma and Blogger Raju Parulekar
The Adani Group has taken strong action against online critics. They filed criminal defamation complaints against popular YouTuber Abhisar Sharma and blogger Raju Parulekar in a Gujarat court. The company accuses them of spreading false information online to damage Adani’s reputation.
A court in Gandhinagar issued notices to both individuals. They must appear in court on September 20. If the court admits the complaints, the cases could go to trial. Sharma and Parulekar might face up to two years in jail, fines, or both under India’s new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) laws—sections that cover defamation, similar to the old Indian Penal Code.
What sparked this? It all started with a YouTube video Sharma uploaded on August 18, 2025. In it, he claimed the Adani Group got thousands of bighas of land in Assam as a political favor. Parulekar added fuel with a series of tweets and retweets since January 2025. He alleged land grabs, scams, and unfair benefits for Adani.
Adani Group strongly denies these claims. They call the allegations baseless and misleading. The company points out that a Gauhati High Court order from August 12, 2025—which Sharma and Parulekar mentioned—doesn’t even name Adani. Plus, Mahabal Cement Pvt Ltd, the company in that court case, has zero links to Adani.
To back their side, Adani submitted evidence to the court. This includes Sharma’s video and its transcript, Parulekar’s social media posts, the full Gauhati High Court order, and other records.
This defamation case highlights the growing tensions between big businesses like Adani and online influencers. Many eyes will be on the September 20 court date as the story unfolds. Stay tuned for updates on this Adani defamation row.
