Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met with leaders from top Japanese companies in Gurugram on Sunday, urging them to ramp up investments in the state. The discussions aim to strengthen ties and bring more business opportunities to Haryana.
During the meeting, Saini signed a key memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Honda for better construction and demolition waste management. Under the deal, the Haryana government will supply land and waste materials, while Honda steps in to produce tiles from the recycled waste. This move highlights Haryana’s push toward sustainable industrial practices.
Saini has a trip to Japan lined up from October 6 to 8, where he’ll check out the Haryana Pavilion and explore more collaboration ideas. Back home, he chatted with executives from major Japanese firms already operating in the state, focusing on ways to attract even bigger investments.
One big highlight: Saini proposed creating a dedicated cluster for Japanese companies in Narayangarh. He pointed out its prime spot, just 40 to 45 kilometers from Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab—perfect for boosting trade and connectivity.
Shifting to infrastructure, Saini updated on water supply improvements in Manesar. Officials have finished the detailed project report (DPR), and construction kicks off soon after the tender process. The state has set aside about Rs 3,000 crore to build a pipeline from the Munak Canal, ensuring steady water for Manesar’s growing population over the next 25 to 30 years. No more shortages on the horizon.
Saini also stressed treating industrial chemical wastewater properly. He called on industries to adopt cutting-edge technologies for recycling and reusing water. The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation has a solid plan ready. In the first phase, Manesar gets the rollout at a cost of around Rs 78 crore, letting factories reuse their own water and cut down on waste.
Finally, the chief minister pushed for smarter use of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds. He advised channeling them through the Deputy Commissioner to make sure every rupee goes toward real community benefits and development projects. This approach could make a big difference in local lives.
