Union Home Minister Amit Shah kicks off the Startup Conclave 2025 in Gandhinagar on Tuesday at Mahatma Mandir. This exciting two-day event, running from September 23 to 24, comes from the Gujarat government’s Education department. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and State Higher and Technical Education Minister Rushikesh Patel will join the opening ceremony.
The conclave gathers India’s top innovators, entrepreneurs, and investors under one roof. Expect more than 1,000 startups, 5,000 innovators, 100 industry mentors, over 50 venture funds, and key policymakers. It bridges early-stage startups with big investors, aiming to boost India’s vibrant startup ecosystem.
One big draw? Investor pitching sessions where over 50 selected startups pitch ideas in parallel tracks to top venture capitalists. These could unlock Rs 250 crore in funding, topping the success of the 2023 event. Already, investors have shown strong interest with letters of intent and commitments worth Rs 150 crore for promising ventures.
The spotlight shines on 170+ startups from 20 states, handpicked by initiatives like Startup India, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX). Exhibitions cover hot sectors such as defence, aerospace, healthcare, clean energy, agritech, deep tech, and social impact innovations—all fueling India’s push for ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ or self-reliant India.
Gujarat’s thematic pavilions highlight local strengths in electric vehicles, semiconductors, augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), fintech, green hydrogen, drones, and space technologies. The opening features the launch of a Startup Conclave Coffee Table Book, the NEP-2020 Dashboard, and an Indian Knowledge System Compendium.
The government plans to seal 50 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between startups, investors, and financial institutions. They’ll also hand out funding cheques and Letters of Intent to top ventures.
Beyond exhibitions and business-to-business networking, attendees get plenary sessions and roundtables on hot topics like opportunities in sunrise sectors, the rise of India’s unicorns, women-led startups, and digital transformation’s impact. A special Unicorn Roundtable, led by Minister Rushikesh Patel, brings unicorn founders, policymakers, and investors together to shape the future of India’s innovation economy.
The startup exhibition stands out as a hub, giving entrepreneurs direct chats with policymakers, industry leaders, investors, and mentors. Experts from iDEX, Startup India, MeitY Startup Hub, Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), Gujarat Venture Finance Limited, and Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) will offer mentorship, go-to-market tips, and investor connections. This conclave promises to spark the next wave of Indian entrepreneurship.
