New Delhi – Nov 23 (LatestNewsX). The sprawling Bharat Mandapam complex has turned into a bustling canvas of India’s cultural and economic tapestry, drawing huge crowds at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025.
With the motto ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ and more than 3,500 exhibitors, this year’s fair is doing more than just facilitating trade—it’s become a lifeline for small traders, artisans, farmer‑entrepreneurs and first‑time business owners from all over the country.
Inaugurated on November 14, the 14‑day event gives new‑generation entrepreneurs, rural craftspersons and local brands a chance to test the market, connect with bulk buyers and learn real consumer behaviour. For many participants, the IITF is their first step onto the national stage, echoing India’s confident, self‑reliant spirit as we march toward Viksit Bharat 2047.
At the Bihar pavilion, 45‑year‑old first‑time exhibitor Sridhi Kumari displays Bhagalpuri silk sarees and zari work crafted by artisans in Bihar and West Bengal. Benefiting from the state’s women‑entrepreneurship schemes, she says the fair is opening her eyes to market dynamics and expanding her reach after her earlier showcase at a GI Mahotsav in March 2025.
From Maharashtra’s Hingoli district, farmer‑turned‑entrepreneur Prahlad Ramrao Borgad and his wife Kaveri bring organic pulses, spices and pickles under the brand ‘Surya Farmers’. Their business enjoys support from SHGs and the MSME department, and the fair teaches them branding, presentation and customer engagement skills that are rarely available in rural markets. Borgad estimates his earnings at the IITF equal the income of four to five months, and he continues to receive orders even after the event ends.
Jharkhand, the partner state this year, showcases its tribal heritage with lacquer bangles by Jhabar Mal, who has been on the fair for several years. While sales each year are modest, his loyal customers keep returning and often place pre‑orders. His success supports nearly 400 Adivasi women in a rural cooperative, illustrating how IITF sustains livelihoods well beyond the fairground.
The 2025 edition dovetails with India’s expanding global trade footprint, as ongoing Free Trade Agreements and policy backing empower micro and small enterprises.
As the pavilions light up day after day, IITF 2025 reminds us that India’s economic narrative is as much about resilient small entrepreneurs as it is about big industries—craftsmanship, innovation and interconnectedness at every level.
