New Delhi, Oct 18 – India’s AI Mission, together with the World Health Organization (WHO), has launched a global call for short abstracts that showcase real‑world, scalable uses of artificial intelligence in health care.
Researchers, innovators and institutions across the Global South can submit up to 250 words by October 31. The best entries will win a spot in the upcoming “Casebook on AI Health Use Cases Across the Global South.” The book will launch at the India–AI Impact Summit in February 2026 in New Delhi.
The casebook is designed to be a practical guide for policymakers, researchers and tech developers. It will collect stories of successful AI projects, explain how they were implemented, and outline lessons learned. By documenting real experiences, the book aims to speed up responsible AI adoption and digital transformation in healthcare systems.
Selected contributors will be invited to write full chapters, 2,500–3,000 words long. These chapters will detail the AI solution, its deployment strategy, ethical safeguards, the impact achieved and key takeaways.
Earlier this year, the government announced five projects under its “Safe and Trusted AI” pillar. These projects target crucial challenges: real‑time deepfake detection, forensic analysis, bias mitigation in AI models, and strong evaluation tools for generative AI. The goal is to ensure that AI systems used in India are secure, reliable and inclusive.
Together, the call for abstracts and the “Safe and Trusted AI” projects demonstrate India’s commitment to turning safe AI research into real, scalable solutions that benefit health systems around the world.
