Celebrating Icons and Innovation at Equipment India Awards 2025

New Delhi, September 12: The Equipment India Awards 2025 lit up the stage with heartfelt tributes and forward-looking talks on construction equipment and infrastructure in India. From lifetime honors to fresh ideas on sustainable roads, the event highlighted the stars driving India’s massive growth in building and transport sectors.

Anand Sundaresan, Director of Ammann India, grabbed the spotlight with the Equipment India Lifetime Achievement Award 2025. The crowd gave him a roaring standing ovation, cheering a career full of steering companies, motivating teams, and pushing industry standards higher. It’s clear this wasn’t just an award—it’s a big thank you from the construction world.

In his warm acceptance speech, Sundaresan shared, "I accept this with pride and dedicate it to my family, colleagues, and the entire construction industry. This doesn’t mean I’m retiring—the tiger is still alive!" His words, laced with humor and humility, connected deeply with everyone.

The moment got even more special with a video message from VG Sakthikumar, Chairman and MD of Schwing Stetter India. Sakthikumar, who teamed up with Sundaresan during his time there, praised his vision, leadership, and lasting impact on companies and the whole ecosystem.

Shifting gears to the next generation, Vivekanand Vanmeeganathan, MD of Caterpillar India, earned the Equipment India Person of the Year 2025. The award spotlights his smart moves in guiding a global giant through India’s booming infrastructure scene, from highways to urban projects.

Event host Pratap Padode, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of ASAPP Info Global, set the tone by stressing the need for innovation in construction equipment. "Technology use has skyrocketed, and government rules are speeding it up," he said. "India has the talent and experience—we just need to focus it on fresh ideas." Padode sparked a lively chat on autonomous construction equipment to tackle skill shortages and boost productivity.

Sandeep Singh, MD of Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery, took the keynote spot on the construction equipment panel. He mapped out the industry’s future, covering automation, sustainability, and digital tools. Singh called on everyone to sync up with the government’s huge infrastructure drive, aiming for smarter, greener building in India.

More Than Just Trophies: Honoring Innovation and Sustainability

The awards didn’t stop at individuals—they shone a light on top performers across categories. Winners included Ajax Engineering, Premier Heavy Lift, Tata Hitachi, Bonfiglioli, Schwing Stetter, LiuGong India, Case, and JCB India. These nods celebrated breakthroughs in construction equipment innovation and eco-friendly practices. What stood out most? A shared excitement about how far the construction equipment (CE) industry has come in India—and the exciting road ahead.

The evening flowed into the RAHSTA Awards, which cheered excellence in roads, highways, and transport projects. These honors gave props to the behind-the-scenes heroes—teams and leaders transforming India’s mobility with better connectivity and smarter systems.

Global Insights and Future-Proof Ideas

The event packed in extras like the Japan-India Road Engineering Seminar. Praveensingh Pardeshi, Chief Economic Advisor to Maharashtra’s Chief Minister and CEO of MITRA, talked up policies for tomorrow’s roads and stronger India-Japan ties. Experts from MMRDA and MMRCL joined in, blending global know-how with local changes.

Sessions dove into "Greening and Future-Proofing India Roads," exploring recycled materials, EV-ready highways, and smart machinery for sustainable transport. The "Building India @2047" panel wrapped it up by looking at how advanced construction equipment, digital tech, and smart policies will fuel India’s push toward a $30 trillion economy.

Overall, the Equipment India Awards 2025 felt like a rally cry for India’s infrastructure boom—blending gratitude for trailblazers with bold plans for sustainable growth in construction and roads.
