Alcobrew Distilleries India Limited, a key player in India’s spirits market, saw a small drop in operational revenue for FY2025, slipping 1.52% to Rs 1,615 crore from Rs 1,640 crore the year before. The company shared these figures in its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) filed with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) as it gears up for its initial public offering (IPO).
On a brighter note, Alcobrew’s profit after tax climbed to Rs 69.45 crore in FY2025, marking a healthy rise from Rs 62.55 crore in FY2024. This growth comes as the spirits maker seeks SEBI’s nod to go public and raise fresh capital.
The Alcobrew IPO plans to include a fresh issue of up to Rs 258.26 crore, plus an offer-for-sale (OFS) of 1.8 crore shares from a promoter. To keep things fair, the net offer will reserve 50% for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), 15% for non-institutional investors (NIIs), and 35% for everyday retail investors.
Alcobrew intends to use the money from the fresh issue to grow its business, handle working capital needs, and tackle general corporate expenses. As a leading Indian alcoholic beverages company, Alcobrew focuses on making, marketing, and selling popular drinks like whisky, vodka, and rum.
Its lineup features standout brands such as Golfer’s Shot premium whisky, White & Blue blended whisky, White Hills regular whisky, and One More vodka. These appeal to consumers across India, from casual drinkers to premium enthusiasts.
The company runs manufacturing plants in Solan, Himachal Pradesh, and Dera Bassi, Punjab, equipped for both distillation and bottling. Thanks to a solid distribution network and smart contract manufacturing deals, Alcobrew has spread its reach nationwide and even stepped into global markets.
In fact, Alcobrew exports its products to more than 20 countries, including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Nepal. This international push highlights the growing demand for Indian whisky and spirits abroad.
Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors will lead the IPO as the book-running lead manager, guiding Alcobrew through this exciting step toward public trading. Investors eyeing opportunities in the Indian beverages sector will want to watch how this unfolds.
