Karnataka Medical Council Shines at Global IAMRA Conference 2025 in Ireland

Imagine doctors from across the world coming together to shape the future of healthcare. That’s exactly what happened at the International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities (IAMRA) Conference 2025 in Dublin, Ireland. The Karnataka Medical Council (KMC) proudly represented India at this prestigious five-day event, joining over 36 regulatory bodies and the World Health Organization (WHO). The talks focused on big challenges like tech advancements, ethical dilemmas, and evolving healthcare needs.

India’s team made a strong showing, with delegates from KMC, the National Medical Commission (NMC), and the Gujarat Medical Council (GMC). Leading KMC’s group were Dr. Chytra V Anand, Dr. Pavan Patil, Dr. Ravindra R, Dr. Santosh Patil, and Dr. Sharan Karbhari. They dove into lively discussions on key topics, including better ongoing training for doctors, the rise of telemedicine, AI in healthcare, safe social media use for medical professionals, and boosting doctor well-being to keep patients safe.

Dr. Chytra V Anand shared her excitement: "IAMRA 2025 was a fantastic platform to learn and share ideas. We spotlighted KMC’s strengths, like our clear rules on malpractice, teamwork with traditional and modern medicine, and the real challenges of rural healthcare in India. These chats help us build regulations that truly support patients and doctors."

India’s full lineup included GMC’s Dr. Nitin Vora and Dr. Manish Patel, plus NMC Chair Dr. Abhijit Desai. Together, they showcased India’s united approach to medical regulation on the world stage.

KMC’s involvement highlights India’s commitment to global best practices. Back home, the council plans to roll out key changes: clearer complaint handling, upgraded professional development programs, and fresh guidelines on digital health and AI in medicine. These steps aim to build more trust, innovation, and accountability in India’s healthcare system.

Overall, KMC’s role at IAMRA 2025 strengthens India’s voice in worldwide medical regulation talks. It paves the way for smarter, ethical, and patient-focused changes that will benefit doctors and families everywhere in the country.
