Kerala High Court is making court updates easier and faster for everyone involved. Starting October 6, the court will add WhatsApp messaging to its Case Management System (CMS). This new feature aims to give real-time notifications to advocates, litigants, and people appearing in person, alongside the usual channels.
The rollout will happen in phases, as per a recent High Court notification. You’ll get WhatsApp alerts on things like e-filing issues, case listings, court proceedings, and other key updates. It’s a handy way to stay in the loop on Kerala High Court cases without missing a beat.
But remember, these WhatsApp messages are just an extra tool—they won’t replace official notices, summons, or any required legal steps unless the court says so. For security, all messages come only from the verified sender ID “The High Court of Kerala.” Stay alert and ignore any suspicious texts; always check the sender to avoid scams.
To use this, advocates and litigants must update their CMS profiles with an active WhatsApp number. If your main number isn’t on WhatsApp, add a secondary one. You can update primary numbers via email as before, but secondary ones go straight through the Advocate Portal in the CMS.
One important note: If a WhatsApp message doesn’t arrive or gets delayed, that won’t excuse you from showing up in court or following procedures. Always double-check details on the official Kerala High Court website for accuracy.
This move is part of the court’s push toward digital upgrades, helping make judicial processes smoother and more accessible for all in Kerala.
