MediaTek, the global fabless chipmaker that powers more than two billion connected devices a year, kicked off the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC) on October 9 with a splash of new tech and partnership news. The company showcased its latest flagship system‑on‑chip (SoC), the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, and announced a new collaboration with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to build the next‑generation flagship chip using TSMC’s advanced N2P process. Volume production is slated for late next year.

The Dimensity 9500 is designed to drive next‑gen 5G smartphones. It bundles cutting‑edge on‑device AI, console‑grade gaming, and top‑tier power efficiency in one package. During the briefing, MediaTek ran live demos that highlighted the chip’s AI prowess, such as real‑time image‑to‑image style transfer and 4K text‑to‑image generation. The SoC also supports Unreal Engine features like Mega Light and Nanite, giving mobiles console‑level visuals, dynamic lighting, and AAA detail.

Key OEM partners were in attendance. Vivo, OPPO, Samsung, Tecno and Lava—each signed up to bring Dimensity devices to market—shared their plans. OPPO’s Indian head of PR, Goldee Patnaik, revealed that the upcoming Find X9 series will be powered by the Dimensity 9500. “Consumers expect devices that are smarter, faster and more personal, while still being energy‑efficient,” said MediaTek India Managing Director Anku Jain. “This chip gives OEMs a full suite of premium features that can be delivered worldwide.”

Other highlights at the event included MediaTek‑powered devices across different verticals. HP’s G1m Chromebook runs on the MediaTek Kompanio 520, the Vivo X200 FE is the first smartphone to launch with the Dimensity 9300+. A luminary media lounge hosted by MediaTek saw the launch of the Lumio Arc 5 projector and other media devices, underscoring the company’s broad product footprint.

MediaTek also took the stage in several panel discussions. Topics ranged from “Future Gadgets: Designed and Built from India” to “5G Deployment, AI Integration in Telecom Networks, and Edge Computing” and “Key 6G Use Cases.” These sessions positioned MediaTek as a thought leader in India’s digital future.

Behind the scenes, MediaTek organized a gaming tournament that featured Dimensity 8000 and 9000 series smartphones. More than 50 media enthusiasts and tech fans competed, showcasing the chips’ performance and precision. MediaTek India’s marketing director, Anuj Sidharth, said the tournament not only drives brand loyalty but also demonstrates why gamers choose MediaTek, “We’re putting our tech into the hands of the people who push devices to their limits.”

The partnership with TSMC and the impressive lineup of SoCs and demos are part of MediaTek’s ongoing push to strengthen India’s digital ecosystem. For the second year in a row, MediaTek is the official Technology Media Lounge Partner at IMC, cementing its role in shaping conversations around connectivity, AI and future technologies. ()
