On Vijayadashami, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav shared exciting news for the state’s police force. He announced plans to recruit more than 20,000 new personnel into the Madhya Pradesh Police, one of the biggest expansions in years to boost public safety.
The announcement happened during a vibrant Shastra Poojan ceremony at Police Lines in Indore, the city of Mother Ahilya. This traditional event honors weapons and symbols of duty, blending age-old customs with modern tech to celebrate courage and service.
In a post on X, Yadav wrote, “Soon, over 20,000 new positions will be filled in the Madhya Pradesh Police to further strengthen public safety. On this auspicious Vijayadashami, I attended the Shastra Poojan at Police Lines, Indore, and launched ‘SafeClicks’, an AI-powered chatbot to fight cybercrime.”
Speaking at the event, Yadav highlighted how the recruitment will beef up law enforcement while creating thousands of jobs across Madhya Pradesh. He stressed the need to modernize the force to tackle rising issues like cybercrime and traffic woes.
Yadav also unveiled SafeClicks, the new AI chatbot from Indore Police. Users can scan a QR code to get instant help on traffic updates and security tips through voice or text chats. It’s the first such tool in Madhya Pradesh, starting in Indore before rolling out to other areas and services.
Indore Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh said the chatbot pulls from open-source data to make police services easier and faster for everyone. This push shows Madhya Pradesh’s commitment to digital tools and smart policing.
Yadav touched on Vijayadashami’s deeper meaning, calling it a festival of good defeating evil, bravery, and responsibility. He encouraged people statewide to join in Shastra Poojan and Ravan Dahan to keep these values alive.
During the ceremony, the chief minister checked out the police armoury, blessed vehicles, and got a Guard of Honour. The Armed Police Force band played devotional tunes, giving the day a heartfelt touch.
Through this mix of hiring and tech upgrades, Madhya Pradesh aims to create a tougher, smarter police force that puts citizens first.
