Nissan says it will collect more than 173,000 U.S. cars to fix a fuel‑pump problem that could affect driving safety.
The recall covers 2023 and 2024 model‑year models that use a specific fuel‑pump assembly that can fail. A faulty pump can interrupt power or cause a sudden drop in fuel pressure, which might leave a driver stranded or increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will replace the fuel‑pump module free of charge. Nissan says the fix takes about 30 minutes and no repairs are needed if the pump is still functioning properly.
If you own a 2023 or 2024 Nissan, you can check whether you’re in the recall by entering your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on Nissan’s recall portal. Auto‑showers can also call Nissan’s recall service centre for a quick check.
Nissan has posted a statement on its website, saying the recall is a “necessary safety measure.” The company hopes to complete all repairs by the end of the year.
Customers should get their vehicles serviced as soon as possible. The company will contact owners via mail or email. If you’re unsure, visit your local Nissan dealer for verification and scheduling.
