Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the 9th India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 on Tuesday, October 8, at about 9:45 a.m. The event, the biggest telecom, media and technology fair in Asia, is hosted by the Department of Telecommunications and the Cellular Operators Association of India.
The four‑day forum runs from October 8 to 11 under the theme “Innovate to Transform.” The motto stresses India’s growing role in digital progress and the power of new ideas to boost society and the economy.
A mixed crowd of global leaders, policymakers, industry experts and innovators will gather in New Delhi to show the newest advances in telecom and emerging tech. Highlights include 6G research, quantum communications, semiconductor breakthroughs, optical networks and ways to fight cyber fraud. These topics reflect India’s goal of securing a top spot in future connectivity and digital security.
IMC 2025 is expected to host over 1,600 new technology demonstrations—from 5G and 6G to AI, smart mobility, cybersecurity, quantum computing and green tech. More than 400 companies will exhibit, and the conference will draw about 7,000 delegates from 150+ countries, with an anticipated visitor count of 150,000.
There will be more than 100 sessions featuring 800 speakers worldwide. Delegations from Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ireland, Austria and other nations will strengthen India’s international ties and underline the country’s influence in the global tech arena.
Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia toured the venue on Monday, checking final preparations before the PM’s inauguration. Scindia also rode the Airport Metro to and from IMC, illustrating India’s push for modern, sustainable urban transport.
