PM Modi to unveil projects and schemes worth Rs 42,000 crore in agriculture, allied sectors

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off a major push for India’s farming community in New Delhi on Saturday, unveiling a package of schemes and projects worth more than ₹42,000 crore.

Two flagship agriculture programmes

Modi will launch two large‑scale schemes that together come to ₹35,440 crore.

  • PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana – ₹24,000 crore, aimed at boosting crop output, encouraging farmers to grow a mix of crops, and improving storage, irrigation and credit facilities in 100 target districts.
  • Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses – ₹11,440 crore, designed to raise pulse yields, expand the land used for pulses, tighten the value chain from buying to processing, and cut post‑harvest loss.

New construction and development plans

The prime minister will also open a slate of projects worth ₹5,450 crore across agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries and food processing. He will lay the cornerstone for more than 27 new initiatives, including a fresh ₹815 crore build‑out.

Key projects that Modi will inaugurate include:

  • An artificial insemination training centre in Bengaluru and in Jammu‑and‑Shergarh.
  • A centre of excellence in Amreli and Banas for rural development.
  • An IVF lab under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission in Assam.
  • Milk‑powder plants in Mehsana, Indore and Bhilwara.
  • A fish‑feed plant under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana in Tezpur, Assam.
  • New agro‑processing clusters, integrated cold‑chain facilities and value‑add infrastructure across the country.

Projects that will receive foundation stones include:

  • Integrated cold‑chain and irradiation units in Krishna, Andhra Pradesh.
  • Trout‑fishing farms in Uttarakhand.
  • An integrated aqua‑park in Nagaland.
  • A smart fishing harbour in Karaikal, Puducherry.
  • A state‑of‑the‑art aquapark at Hirakud, Odisha.

Meeting farmers and celebrating progress

Modi will speak at a special programme hosted by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute. He will meet farmers who grow pulses and discuss how recent government schemes have helped them build a value‑chain approach, covering agriculture, animal husbandry and fisheries. The event will also spotlight the prime minister’s commitment to farmer welfare, rural infrastructure and self‑reliance.

With these launches and ground‑breaking ceremonies, India is set to bring more technology, better storage and stronger credit to its farms, powering the next wave of agricultural growth.
