Mumbai, Nov 2 – Royal Enfield, India’s flagship bullet maker, said it sold 1.25 million bikes last October, up 13 % from a year earlier. The company’s domestic sales jumped 15 % to 1.17 million units, while exports fell 7 % to about 8.1 thousand units.
Managing Director B. Govindarajan, who also runs Eicher Motors, explained that the holiday season gave the brand a lift. “We sold more than 249 000 bikes in September and October – our best‑ever festive haul – and that shows how much riders love Royal Enfield,” he told reporters.
The upturn comes as India’s two‑wheeler market rebounds. Other makers such as TVS Motor and Suzuki saw October sales grow 8‑11 % after GST changes and holiday demand. Analysts say the economy’s recovery, better rural sentiment, and new model launches are propelling sales ahead of Diwali.
Royal Enfield keeps strengthening its mid‑size lineup with best‑sellers like the Classic 350, Bullet, Hunter 350, and Himalayan, keeping the brand at the forefront of India’s motorcycle scene.
