Seoul, South Korea – SK Group is positioning South Korea as a leader in artificial intelligence by hosting two big international AI events in late October and early November 2025. The first, the Future Tech Forum AI, will take place in Gyeongju on October 28 as a side event of the APEC CEO Summit. The next event, the SK AI Summit 2025, will run from November 3‑4 at COEX in Seoul.
Both gatherings will draw top tech leaders and scholars from around the world to discuss AI strategies, industry partnerships, and national AI ecosystems. Key participants will include South Korean officials such as President’s senior AI adviser Ha Jung‑woo and SK Group chairman Chey Tae‑won, who also serves as Chair of the APEC CEO Summit. Other high‑profile guests will be SK Telecom CEO Ryu Young‑sang, Naver CEO Choi Soo‑yeon, Amazon Web Services CEO Matt Garman, OpenAI Korea head Kim Kyoung‑hoon, Stanford AI professor Choi Ye‑jin, and Deloitte’s global AI leader Nitin Mittal.
Chey Tae‑won will give the keynote at the APEC summit, highlighting South Korea’s vision and progress in building an AI‑driven economy. The Future Tech Forum AI will focus on a “National AI Ecosystem,” encouraging policy‑level collaboration beyond individual company plans. A K‑Tech Showcase will feature SK Group’s integrated AI data‑center solution, which brings together SK Hynix, SK Telecom, SK C, and SK Enmove to showcase advances in semiconductors, cooling, cybersecurity, and more.
The SK AI Summit 2025, titled “AI Now & Next,” will showcase the group’s achievements to date and outline its long‑term AI growth strategy. The summit will expand its reach to include startups, universities, and global corporations. A side event, the SK AI Summit Cloud Code Builder Hackathon, will be co‑hosted by SK Telecom, Anthropic, and Coxwave, offering a platform for developers to test AI tools and cloud solutions.
SK Group says the events will let South Korea share its AI ecosystem strategy with the world and demonstrate its AI infrastructure that spans semiconductors, energy, and digital services. Through APEC, the company aims to place Korean AI at the center of global cooperation, marking a major step forward for K‑AI on the world stage.
