Mumbai, Nov 10 – Hema Malini posted a throwback snap of her husband, Dharmendra, on Instagram and wrote a heartfelt note about his health. “Everyone is asked to pray for Dharam ji’s swift recovery,” she said, adding that he is in the hospital for observation and under constant monitoring.
Dharmendra is currently in Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai, where his son Sunny Deol and brother Bobby Deol have been visiting. Sunny arrived in a quiet drive with his son, while Bobby came with his wife. Bollywood star Salman Khan also stopped by, sporting his famous “Galwan” look.
The veteran actor has been on a ventilator and is battling breathing difficulties. Although Hema Malini told reporters a week ago that he was okay during a prior visit, his health remains a concern. Dharmendra has moved to a farmhouse in Khandala, partly to escape Mumbai’s heavy pollution.
Born in 1935 in Punjab, Dharmendra burst onto the film scene after winning a 1958 nationwide talent hunt organized by Filmfare and Bimal Roy Productions. His screen debut in the 1960s quickly made him a household name. He starred in classics like Phool Aur Patthar and Sholay, earning fame as a versatile hero who could handle romance, action and comedy with equal skill.
