Tesla has kicked off deliveries of its popular Model Y electric SUV to customers across India, starting with the standard version. The Long Range model will hit the roads soon, giving buyers more options in the growing electric vehicle market.
As a bonus for new owners, Tesla is throwing in a free Wall Connector. This handy device lets you install a home charger right in your parking spot, making it super easy to power up your Model Y overnight. Whether at home or work, it ensures you start every day with a full battery, slashing your per-mile costs and ditching those gas station runs altogether.
For on-the-go charging, Tesla’s stations in Mumbai and Delhi have you covered. In Mumbai’s One BKC area, you’ll find four high-speed V4 Superchargers for quick DC boosts and four AC Destination Chargers for slower, convenient top-ups. Over in Delhi’s Aerocity, it’s similar: four V4 Superchargers and three Destination Chargers, so you can pick what fits your schedule best.
The Model Y starts at an attractive price of Rs 59.89 lakh ex-showroom, making it a strong contender in India’s premium EV lineup. The Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive version bumps up to Rs 67.89 lakh, offering extra range for longer trips.
This comes hot on the heels of Tesla’s big push into India. Last month, the company opened its first showroom in the National Capital Region at Worldmark 3 in Aerocity—a bustling spot near Indira Gandhi International Airport. It’s the second retail hub in the country, just a month after entering the market, and serves as an experience center where you can check out the Model Y up close, learn about buying one, and get the lowdown on charging setups.
Tesla is ramping up retail access and helping customers get on board before the holiday rush, now with showrooms in two major cities. For now, the focus stays on the Model Y as the star of its India portfolio, with no word yet on local manufacturing or other models joining the mix. If you’re eyeing an electric SUV in India, Tesla’s making it easier than ever to go green.
